Reminds me of when people try to turn in an item that they were issued, that is still in the sealed bag it came in and they turn it away for being dirty. Say what?

SSG Robert Webster I have heard that one too, I cannot believe it. Talk about an anal retentive ass clown. How can something sealed in plastic be dirty?

Back in the days when teradactyl's were still flying you could go to Wright Patterson AFB and get a custom fit flight helmet. I did this, but the process involved making modifications to the standard issue helmet which you were instructed to bring with you. Loved my helmet, but when it came time to PCS one of the things on the turn in list for flyers was a flight helmet. Since mine was modified they wouldn't accept it and wouldn't sign off my supply out processing checklist. Catch 22 in real life. Fortunately one of our Life Support Techs had been stationed at Wright Patterson, was involved in making custom helmets and knew exactly what to do. He gave me a condemned helmet which I brought to supply and they signed off my checklist. A helmet was the key thing, whether or not it could be used didn't matter.
