People just plain stupid, pure and simple! At aquarium where I worked people would bring young kids to first aid with fish bites from gar on their hands. Fine, we treated, but since top of tank where fish were was about 4 1/2' high and kids were 3' tops how did kids get fingers into tank? CCTV showed parents holding kids over tank and letting them splash in the water. Hey the gar were just doing what comes natural, going after food on surface. Oh, and ya there were signs saying keep hands out of water all over, stupid, just plain stupid!
