One of my Science teachers had an 8 inch oak tree round that was found after Hurricane Camille. The wind had shot a drinking straw completely through it with about six inches of straw sticking out the other side. As Ron says, "It's not how fast the wind is blowing...It's what the wind is blowing".

Hahaha! It doesn't have to be a Volvo to ruin your whole day. It could be something as innocuous as sand. 24 hours of hurricane-force winds blowing a little bit of sand could leave a pretty clean skeleton tied to that tree (assuming the tree is still there at the end of it).
