I am probably wrong, but I cannot see this type of design replacing the Apache. The whole reason for the AH1 design was to create a smaller profile for the aircraft. This thing cannot do that because of the way the rotors are built.

This whole tilt rotor thing is garbage imo. I think if you're going to replace proven airframes with anything then you have to make them better and improve their mission capabilities, not reduce them. You're not going to be able to land that thing to extract troops from tight spots like you can a Blackhawk. You can't arm that thing in a way that's going to make it more maneuverable and lethal than an Apache. The only airframe that you might be able to replace with one of these monstrosities in the Chinook, but why? This tilt rotor thing is garbage.
