What I don't like about these campus issues is the fact that due process does not apply. And yet, there are very real legal consequences for those who stand accused.

That smacks of taking the law into one's own hands, in my opinion.

If the college campuses want to expel a student over ACCUSATIONS...well, in my opinion it's kinda like an employer who can fire and employee. Except, of course, the college student is paying the college and not the other way around. Which means I also believe the college should be refunding all tuition fees for the semester/year in question.

If they believe a student is guilty of having committed a criminal act...then that student should be remanded into police custody and charges preferred. Just like in any other situation in the real world.

But that's the limit of the powers of the college over any student in these matters.
