It appears that this individual did not get the help that was needed.
It appears to me that between how the LGBTQ community and mental health professionals treat these issues that the radicals in the community and in the mental health profession are failing these people. This person was referenced by at least the authors and possibly his parents and self as an intersex individual and used third person singular pronouns for descriptions: "
While the state’s investigative bureau referred to Schultz as a male — “Scott Schultz” — the student and their family used the pronoun “them.” Schultz described themselves as “bisexual, nonbinary, and intersex,” on the website for Pride Alliance."

Sounds to me like the officer had probable cause , a deadly weapon should be classified as just about anything . A pencil can easily be used to inflick damage to the human body . I guess my time in the Marines has taught me that . He should have complied to the officer and drop ANYTHING I'm his hands when requested to do so from lawful authorities. Sorry he lost his life over NOT following the officers directive .

A very troubled person. It's odd that even the parents referred to him in the plural. Maybe that was on the advice of medical personnel. It's clear he was in need of help and had attempted suicide by hanging 2 years previous. The LEO will now have to deal with his death and I have to wonder why they weren't equipped with less lethal means.
