Sounds to me like the officer had probable cause , a deadly weapon should be classified as just about anything . A pencil can easily be used to inflick damage to the human body . I guess my time in the Marines has taught me that . He should have complied to the officer and drop ANYTHING I'm his hands when requested to do so from lawful authorities. Sorry he lost his life over NOT following the officers directive .

A very troubled person. It's odd that even the parents referred to him in the plural. Maybe that was on the advice of medical personnel. It's clear he was in need of help and had attempted suicide by hanging 2 years previous. The LEO will now have to deal with his death and I have to wonder why they weren't equipped with less lethal means.
