Thanks for the info. I subscribed. In mid-October I am beginning a year-long course that teaches 7 different IT certifications (including Net+, Security+, CASP, CCENT, CCNA)

Definitely not a bad course to have. It will allow you to get a great overall look at all of IT and Security.

I would like to add, if someone is serious about learning Kali (or any distro of linux), to run it natively and not on a VM. This forced me to adapt to navigating through the terminal. Great write up!

I wouldn't necessarily say installing it natively is the answer, as I used the CLI through the VM quite frequently. Then again I don't download the .vmx file, I usually download the ISO and install that to my VM.
