if you want to be healthy, learn to eat differently. If you want to be fit, exercise more. Don't confuse healthy with fit and vice versa.
Carbs do 3 things: 1. they will give you energy that must be used immediately. If you don't use it immediately, then continue readying
2. They make you hungry sooner
3. They make you fat by storing the energy.

Learn to eat good fats (animal fats) and protein. You will eat less because you are full sooner (satiation factor) and you will transition to being "fat adapted" by using fat for energy. This is demonstrated to cure diabetes type 2 without meds.

Ok, here's the essential amino acids, there's essential fatty acids, but no essential carbohydrates. If you eliminate the carbs it relines your insulin. The first to carbs to be burned is glycogen and it's in your liver, that includes the water weight as well. Then the endocrine system will start to burn the adipose tissue or fat, the byproduct of that are ketones. You'll see that and diabetic patients in ketoacidosis.
Look up the krebs cycle.

eating more animal fat may also aid stress, and many mental issues such as Alzheimer's. remember that all nerves are coated with a protective layer of fat. This must be cared for or the nerve function or brain function suffers.
