Fascinating. We had a stream behind the house where I grew up and were always making dams and they always failed sooner or later. We learned from each one and made the next last a little longer. Of course, the neighbors hated it and made us take down our better ones.

I did the same thing with friends when we were kids. It was years later when I learned the principles or our failures and successes. We had a lot of fun back then, the world we a bigger place.
