I saw the Governor interviewed and his position was that the order only allowed the NG (perhaps others) to seize/obtain items they might need in response to the state of emergency in the execution of their mission. I am not sure that translates into seizing weapons from civilians. Perhaps the order was poorly written. I did not hear of an instance where the NG seized any weapons from private citizens though.

Are you referring to this thread you posted earlier on this topic? I don't see anyone saying it was fake. I see people noting the difference between authorizing the seizure if military necessity dictates, versus your headline title that says the gov actually ordered the seizure of weapons.

U.S. Virgin Islands Gov. Orders Seizure of Privately Owned Guns, Ammo Ahead of Hurricane -... |...
That is an order I would not follow. Anybody following this order are commiting treason to their oath in my eyes.

It's not Treason, and there is no such offense as Failure to Obey Oath of Enlistment.

Ok well my Oath and yours was support and defend the consitution of the US against all enemies foreign and domestic. 2nd Amendment says the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. That means if I’m given an order by the governor, officer, or POTUS to disarm American Citizens, I will not obey that order.

SSG(P) (Join to see) - sure, and I agree with that position. It's just not treason.

Re read the order. What it is saying is that if your unit is trying to provide security and for some reason you don't have adequate firearms your unit can confiscate and use privately owned weapons to complete your mission. Its the same principal as commandeering POVs for transportation or relief supplies.
