This is how to tell a really big lie. Begin by lying about something that can't be verified without extensive checking. (Checking for yourself rather than using "fact checkers" who are complicit in telling the big lie). Then ascribe the damning "truth" to your opposition. For example, when Democrats tell us that Republicans are responsible for slavery or Jim Crow Laws, when those were the tools of the Democrats. Here we have the "One Percent" controlling explanations. Explanations in America are controlled by the Left through their dominance in Hollywood (entertainment), New York (news media), and academia (colleges and universities where studies have shown that the vast majority of professors are Democrats and progressive Leftists).
