I think the vault is a great idea. Stop. If there is an apocalyptic event, how will we, the survivors, get there?
Black humor aside, we have a Native Seed Bank here in Tucson. They provide, you grow, you return fresh seed stock. We've done several native beans and squash. Too many hobbies.
