Thanks for the laugh ... this is so true! I should probably read the article though as I'm sure I'm eating the wrong types of carbs!

I think one of the biggest mistakes runners make is glossing over the term "endurance athlete". This does not simply refer to someone who runs. When training for marathons and long course triathlons, you HAVE to heed the advice of this article and figure out exactly what to eat and when to eat it in order to be able to keep going. You must have a plan and stick to it. But most runners I know never come near those distances. My advice to them is to eat a normal, healthy diet and don't worry about how many grams of carbs they're eating. Running a 5K or 10K does not require a specialized nutrition plan.
