When I was in Berlin we'd go to East Berlin every now and then.
It was the early to mid eighties while I was there.
Cameras were on top of all the buildings and I am sure in them as well.
Today America reminds me more of East Germany than the America I served.
We have cameras everywhere and the highest incarceration rate.

While the message is true, there is no way in hell that this person is heroic. The first two sentences of the article prove that she has absolutely no idea of what OPSEC was/is and that the data she released put service member's lives at risk. There was a reason you went to jail dumbass, you were found guilty by a military court. There are consequences to actions that completely escape her little brain...

A lot of great points. Comparing now to just 10 years ago regarding tech is a vast difference.
