I question how many families he has offered this to and the circumstances.
Has he shown a racial bias in this?
These families no matter who they are or their political beliefs deserve respect for the sacrifice they have made in surrendering their loved one.

It's sad that stuff like this gets put in the media. He is the President of the United States, our Commander in Chief. He may never be politically correct but the majority of the U.S. voted him into that position.
We can't keep putting him down like this, it makes our entire country look bad. If he said something wrong, correct him tactfully and let him learn. For people in the political hierarchy to be bashing him is embarrassing to me as an aspiring politician.
Also if he did forget the 25k initially, sure bring it up to someone. However realize that he's a busy man with a crazy amount of problems to deal with on a daily basis. Sometimes things get forgotten
"Alyssa Mastromonaco, who served as a deputy chief of staff under Obama, was among those to immediately lash out at Trump.
'That's a f***ing lie,' she tweeted. 'To say President Obama (or past presidents) didn't call the family members of soldiers KIA - he's a deranged animal.'"

The majority didn't vote him in, and the majority can see him for what he is. Political correctness is also known as diplomacy, and he is incapable of it. It is the media's job to bring transparency to public office. If he is embarrassing to our country, it is based on what he has said and done on his own accord. A presidential term is only 4 years long. We shouldn't have to be teaching him basic human decency. He has said that he never apologizes for anything, even when he's wrong. Alienating everyone he meets doesn't help our country, and he's responsible for that. Stop treating him like an infant.

Well said Sgt Garza. One correction though. The majority of the U.S. didn't vote for Mr. Trump. The majority of the states did. Thank God for the Electoral College. He is still the best of the two evils that were provided to us for this term.

Ok so if he sends him a check are you going to complain because it took a few months? Are you going to start demanding that he do it for every fallen warrior? Double standard.
BTW I am pretty sure we all do realize what we have signed up for. If you didn't recognize the fact that by signing up for the us military you could potentally die while in service to your country you are either incredibly naive or a fool. Its that knowlege and willingness to sacrifice that sets us apart from people who have never served. IMHO that is our legacy. I'd say let's own it!

The criticism for the check came because it took 4 months to leave POTUS's hands. The WH blames bureaucracy, you know checking whether its legal. Kind of strange they can hire someone and submit a bill in a day with an immediate validity check because they are important. So why could this check not been sent out quickly or a note to them stating its coming, but! No one forced him to make that promise.
Yes we all signed up with the understanding of death or injury, but we don't need the CIC telling my family its what they signed up to do.
Patton said, "No bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making some other poor dumb bastard die for his country."
This is the belief I joined the military with, not with the expectation of dying myself.
