I met him at the Museum at Ft Campbell a couple years before BoB was released. He called me out for my Philly PA accent. Talked about hockey, Flyers, and that they farm NHL players from Hershey, which is the area where he was from. And as always, never a word about his heroic exploits during WWII. He was just glad that I was a nut for WWII history. When BoB came out I was stupefied that I was in the presence of a legend.

To use a phrase non-typical of a 77 year old soldier... "AWESOME!!!"

Ms. Brenda's Dad was a SGT in in the 101st Glider Infantry (Normandy, Market Garden, Battle of the Bulge). He died before I could ever meet him. He carried shrapnel in his back from the Battle of Bulge for the rest of his life

AIR ASSAULT!!! I can watch this series anyday of the week. I was stationed at Ft. Campbell for 4 years and never got a chance to meet any of those gentlemen. I say this because I remember with 4th BCT was still around, they'd be invited to all of their ceremonies whether it be Change of Command/Responsibility
