But what did work is a neighbor with a rifle and another redneck with a pickup truck that when he saw what was happening gave chase to the shooter until the shooter crashed in a ditch.

first you have to figure out what will actualy help, then advocate for it, Pushing a political agenda fail s every time. Pretending that Background checks or ending the gunshot loophole are relevant just make you look dishonest. I think that both sides should play it strait for a change and neither side seems willing to do so.

MSgt Robert C Aldi Interesting non sequitur. Just looked at my DD Form 1966, dated 1 Sep 78, and the only thing that comes close would be “Have you ever engaged in homosexuality?” (In Section IV, DD 1966/5 BTW). Based on that, I’d have to say no.

If I recall correctly, the question on homosexuality was removed sometime in 1994 when “Don’t ask don’t tell” went into effect.

MSgt Robert C Aldi, like I said, it was gone by 1978. Given that the Soviet Union was still alive and well, probably not part of a political agenda.

Not everything is “political agenda”, you know. Gun control wasn’t until the late 90s, for example.

I am just starting to catch up on this event, but I read somewhere that the event was interrupted by one or two people who were legally carrying weapons. Proving once again that the only protection from a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun. Had it not been for the interruption, this would have had a much higher body count.

A resolute person will commit heinous acts. They will find a way or a tool to carry out their plan. in Oklahoma City it was fertilizer, last week in NYC it was a rented truck. It is easy to blame a gun, but the problem is the evil that resides within the heart and mind of these people.

SFC (Join to see) - as a long term resident of BF and having grown up there I can tell you that WE are taught to one pick our targets and two, know what's behind/beyond incase we miss.

Perhaps you can cite some specific examples to substantiate your opinion.

LCpl Arthur Forbes - Amen to that. I want to see how many pseudo-liberal Media sources give credit to that man, and the driver of the vehicle he asked to help in the pursuit of that mass-murderer.

CW3 Harvey K. - Oh kind of how like the President said that if there was extreme vetting then "maybe" that guy wouldn't have had a gun...

Those two men didn't "stop" anything. 26 people died. They didn't stop a thing. No "good guys with a gun" stopped anyone from dying and they didn't stop him either - he shot himself in the head.
