Not sure what to say about this. I know that times have changed, but when I went through boot cam I was called every derogatory name in the book. Maybe we were thicker skinned back in the day, and for the record more than steers and queers come from Texas,

GySgt Ascencion Gomez, D.S.L.
Times have changed because name calling was SOP and didn't hurt me one bit.

"A Bully".... ?
DI's are suppose to be unyielding unrelenting vicious bastards who break you down and then build you back up.... This teardown is brutal and required to overcome everyone's personal demons / issues / expectations / limitations.
Having read this and several from when it was first reported this DI and a few others failed to live up to the moral and ethical standards expected of the DI's. It was originally reported that a few of the offending DI's were dealing with PTSD from their time in combat against ISIS and the Taliban. While this is not an excuse for their behavior it is a question of the command to put people who are not mentally stable in charge of the psy-ops of boot camp training? The Marine training is the longest of all and I would expect the best in their DI's to lead and mold the Best fighters.

CPO (Join to see) I can only speak for my experience in the Army. When I was selected for Drill Sergeant, I had to have a mental health screening to rule out PTSD. Friends of mine were disqualified due to PTSD. This helped to prevent them getting into a situation like this. I'm sure in every branch, some probably "slip through the cracks. Additionally, I have had cases at the command level as a 1SG where a Soldier did something stupid and was facing punishment and "all of a sudden" had some sort of PTSD or mental health issue. I am not saying that is the case with this piece of work, but I know the mental health professionals have their work cut out for them because these types of occurrences IMO are on the uptick.

1SG (Join to see) - That was the question we all had when this was first reported, "Why would a command put them there if they had issues" You are correct many people claim that post being caught except that is not this guys defense in court, it was brought up by others.

A bully, what is this, an elementary school playground or Marine Corps recruit training. The candy asses continue to chip away at the very institutions that keep them free.

Cpl Jeff N. Yep he is a bully and a bad Marine. Drunk on duty, assaulting troops and denigrating troops based on look and religion. There is tough and realistic training and then there is this jackassery. Now if he did nothing of the sort, I will happily retract my statement.
