They carry US Coastguard LEO dets. The Navy does not have Law Enforcement Jurisdiction only the Coastguard.

LTC (Join to see) All we did was provide added security for the CG LEO dets. Otherwise it becomes piracy! Lots of props to those CG LEO Dets, they are some truly amazing people!

While I think that the LCS could be used for this, it seems like using a Ferrari to deliver pizza... Might be a good way to work out a lot of bugs they are having and testing new tech. Fairly easy mission to test that kind of stuff... Not a fan of bringing back FFG's to do this as we would spend a ton on money to bring back a ship class that has no other mission... I always found that CD ops were good to send a new construction crew on, to get their feet wet and operational before integrating with the big boys... My 2 cents, at least!
