IMO, Nixon is a prime example of why the president should be wealthy. Had he not gone rogue trying to feather his nest in the future, in all likelihood, he would be known as one of our better presidents. He made inroads into China that hasn’t been repeated until now. One other point he learned the hard way is don’t piss off Congress, even your own party will throw you under the bus.

Nixon biggest problem was he wanted to be loved. Probably stemming from his childhood.

He actually did nothing illegal, with the exception of the cover-up.

The Democrats were intent to reverse the 1972 election by any means possible, just as they are doing with Trump

SSG Diane R. - You make it sound as if the Rs were somehow victimized. Nobody made them do the crime(s) or try to cover it up. Referring to Nixon only.

The burglary at Watergate had CIA fingers all over it. If you look at the Nixon Administration there was a lot of acrimony between the president and CIA at the time.

Had John F Kennedy's policy to break the CIA into a thousand pieces, and Scatter it into the wind been followed, our Republic would be in much better shape.

As I recall political enemies went to great lengths to nail the Clintons over Whitewater allegations and nothing ever came of it. Both the Senate committee and special prosecutor spending millions could not pin the goods on them. I get the feeling this current brouhaha attacks on DT will also end up the same way; but they will serve to heap buckets of poopee on him, which he will be forced to stop and wipe off, distracting from more productive issues. That is the main intent of political enemies to damage DT & the administration in any way, shape, or form possible through a combination of continuous fake news and numerous congressional-type investigations. Maybe no direct collusion, but certainly operating toward the same ends.

There's more actual evidence of collusion between the Hillary campaign and Russia than there is evidence for collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia. But you're right about the intent of the buckets of crap.

I think the reason Trump was elected was to shake things up.
