Yup seems like everyday you hear about this kind of thing. Maybe for the first few years teachers should work in the lower grades. Then later work in HS.

SOMEBODY please explain this infatuation that seems to be running rampant in our schools these days. What does an adult woman who can go to any bar in town, look a man in the eye and say follow me to my car and get what she wants and then go home...no questions and it is legal...what the heck does she want with a teenage boy? Is it the threat, danger/thrill of the potential of getting caught, or is it a power trip? Sorry to be blunt here but she could get what she wanted anywhere and she chose a young boy when she could probably have any man she wanted. Just don't get it.
She is the adult in the situation and she has to make the decision that it is wrong. A boy in High School certainly has hormones raging and wants bragging rights so he is going to do whatever she wants. She has to put a stop to any inappropriate behavior...period. I just don't understand the attraction.

No comment, except that some women seem to be as pre-disposed to use their power and influence to mess around with minors as some guys mentioned prominently (and tried) in the press. The guys don't have a monopoly on this kind of malarky!

Such stories make me remember that when I was a junior in high school, we had a new English teacher who was on her first job out of college. She was single and very pretty in a Scarlett Johanson sort of way, and she had a habit of wearing dresses with skirts that were rather short for that time (1965). She was, as I recall, also something of a feminist social justice warrior. Whenever she sensed the attention levels flagging (we were reading and discussing Hawthorne's "The Scarlet Letter"), she would come around her desk and sit on the front of it. She had the undivided attention of all the guys in class! I often wondered if she was messing around with any of the students, but have come to the conclusion that since she could obviously have had any guy she wanted, why would she want to? All I knew was that it wasn't me.

I had a teacher like her once, but it was 1957, and I was in Grade 2. All women had Kooties back then and for the next seven to eight years!!! Then I experienced a major epiphany and SAW THE LIGHT!!!
