I always enjoy the random bill that is proposed and progresses through Congress. Can only presume the purpose of wanting to establish a Commission to plan a commemoration of 400 years African/Black American history, 1619-2019. I assume it will be part of Black History Month in 2019. I would question the time and resources particularly financial that is put into this. Is it really necessary?

Well it was sponsored by a Democrat and co-sponsored by 47 Dems and 6 GOP while being passed in both houses of Congress. So it's safe to say it's a meaningless bill for politicians in both parties to look like they are being bipartisan and doing stuff to gain acknowledgement from the Black American communities. In otherwords, it's a sham.
