I caught this on a few different News Sources, the kicker the school board say they are not going to press charges on the teacher...? What? They will be lucky if she doesn't press charges on all of them and the cop. Arresting a Teacher who had the audacity to ask why Teachers still don't get a pay raise (they are making on average 47,000 a year) and this Superintendent gets a raise to the tune of $148,800 annually.

I wonder if the Local Teachers will collectively strike over this. While I hate Unions (due to their corruption) it would be nice to see one do something positive for its members in my life time.

What Louisiana (and every other state needs) is a law that prohibits any State employee from earning more than 2 and a half times the average salary of a teacher in that state. In this case if the average teacher salary in Louisiana is 47K a year, all state salaries should be capped at $117,500.

Since I wasn't there and haven't seen the video I'm not sure what to say on this case.

On one hand it seems that the teacher was not arrested for "speaking out" as the title states but was arrested for refusing to leave after having violated the rules of procedure for the meeting.

On the other hand I have seen numerous board meetings, both government and private where the board abuses the rules of order to stifle criticism and dissent.

Some real poor decisions made by this school board. Now they are real famous in a very bad way.
