The gap in pay? Shoot....I make WAY more on orders than I do at the fire department full time. Not sure if that is a plus for the military pay, or a comment on how badly the city pays me...

The gap I’m talking about is the cost of living. Seems like every year cost of living increases and the military gets less than have of that as an increase. For example the cost of living increases 3% and the military gets a 1.4% “raise”. Yet Congress always gets a bigger raise.
