I think we as soldiers active or retired need to think these situations through before we attack! He wasn't asking for anything, Like you said dressed like an idiot. Anyone even a civilian knows he is not in the military. Some people just wish they could be part of something bigger than themselves, some just don't know any better. Maybe they have limited mental capacity. I also believe if not mistaken the only time the stolen valor comes into play is when some who is pretending to be in the military and being compensated, or receiving gratuities fraudulently

Who is this loser filming? I wish he'd called the police. While the guy in the video is kind of a tool, he's obviously just finds military clothing fashionable. He even admitted it wasn't issued, he wasn't trying to pretend he was in the military and the kid filming it started throwing out "discount" assumptions.
This is over sensitivity to "stolen valor" is the kind thing that gives vets bad name. The kid needs to know the law, use some common sense, and stop trying to be an internet hero.

Come yell sarcastically at me while I am wearing a field coat and pants (wearing a basically hunting outfit). He had no medals and wasn't trying to get anything as far as I could tell. SSG Carlos Madden Doesn't this dude not know that's what Army/Navy store do? It has gotten ridiculous!

Good god I’m a Iraq veteran and I didn’t see anything the guy did was wrong he was minding his own business he never said he was a vet and wasn’t asking anyone for a hand out. Wish he would have called the cops would probably be arrested for harassment which it was in this. So he was wearing camo big deal a lot of non vets do. Get a life idiot.
