No no no, I read an article by a reporter who doesn’t own or shoot guns that people don’t hunt with assault weapons.

My only problem with the majority of the rifles on the list is that they shoot the .223 caliber round. Which is ok for varmint hunting but a little too small for anything else in my opinion.

I agree. My favorite caliber is 30-06. Can hunt anything in the lower 48 and usually find ammo any where.

The .30-06 round is one reason why after WWII many Garands were modified into hunting rifles. It’s probably the most versatile big game caliber out there and I believe has taken more deer than any other caliber.

I'm a 308 fan, but not the black rifle line. I've got a Sako I bought back in 84 at Rhein-Main with a 3x9 Swarovski on top of it. You don't want to know what I paid for it back then...
