Our political party shouldn't lead us. It should follow us and be an expression of our will. Sadly, this isn't happening. This goes for all political parties. Now, if we can't take back our parties, how can we take back our nation?

That is why I don't belong to either party.

Capt Jeff S. - Trump appointed a "committee" to investigate those allegations. They found nothing, nada, zilch.

"how can we take back our nation?"

My wife's people have been asking that for a few hundred years now.

Capt Jeff S. - What a load of shit... a "soft coup". This from people who prattled on about Obama being a "secret Kenyan Muslim" and perpetuated conspiracies about birth certificates... I know, you will claim that the "birther conspiracy" started with Hillary, which has a kernel of truth, but the right-wing picked up that ball and is still running with it. I guess they just needed a leader like Hillary to do their thinking for them.

Most people who drone on about "socialists" have no idea what it means, and are equally in the dark about how they benefit from socialist programs, like the military for instance. Entirely socialist. The means and distribution controlled entirely by the government, paid for by tax dollars. Fire departments, police departments, many utilities.

And whatever happened to the Trump appointed committee that was tasked with looking into election fraud? Any new about them? Same kind of empty allegations used to stir up the morons on the right who will buy into it, and then quietly shut down when the morons lose interest or aren't paying attention... which is not a difficult trick to pull off.

Mr. Nichols is entitled to his opinion. In my view, the leadership in the FBI and the DOJ is corrupt as hell. They have been politicized for over twenty-five years. Anyone remember Waco and Ruby Ridge for starters?

Have you ever worked with the FBI or anyone from the FBI? Are you basing your assessment on first hand knowledge and experience, or just what Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh and Newt Gingrich tell you? Should we condemn the entire United States Army based on Abu Ghraib or My Lai?

MSgt Steve Sweeney - Why do you suppose the FBI provided the Clinton administration the personal files on 900 political opponents in 1993? It certainly would have not been the individual agents from Nebraska or Oklahoma who made those decisions, but it came straight from the top, the corrupt top of the bureau. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_House_FBI_files_controversy

SPC Ross - you do know it's possible for agencies to learn from their mistakes, right? Those happened over 20 years ago. Also, I haven't studied it thoroughly, but it seems to me that a lot of the problem may have been poor decision-making, and not necessarily outright corruption.

Also, it's important to note that EVERY large organization (including police, the military, all religions, etc) will have some corrupt people in them, but that doesn't necessarily mean the entire organization is corrupt.

More to the point, Republicans currently control the House and Senate. They would never let Democrats control everything. Mueller was the head of the FBI under both parties, and has pretty bipartisan support. Also, it's worth noting that so far, George Papadopolous plead guilty and Michael Flynn reached a plea agreement. Obviously, that isn't 100% conclusive, but it does make it seem like there's really something going on.
