So the Florida House upheld the Constitution and refused an emotion driven, knee jerk, decision to outlaw an entire class of weapons that is defined nowhere. What is an assault weapon? What is a large capacity magazine?

This is like passing a law that says speeding is illegal. OK, what is the speed limit? Whatever I deem it to be when I pull you over. Laws without boundaries are legal excuses for tyranny. This was a power play by gun grabbers to exploit the raw emotion and grief of these kids, pure and simple.

What I want to know is who is the 'arse hat' that manipulated these kids into this position. Who put these kids at center stage of this emotionally charged debate and who is profiting from their grief while using them as a photo op.

Find that person and buggy whip them into oblivion.

You want to debate gun control? Good. Let's debate it as adults. But send these grieving kids home and stop using them to advance an agenda.

Not directed at you personally SSgt Stone, but rather an open rant.

1stSgt Nelson Kerr - It isn't that I don't want to read them, I don't understand them. I don't know what you are using to type your posts, but they are frequently unintelligible.

SPC Martin Wiesiolek - Interesting and partly true. BUT and that is a big but, did you notice the parent or other adult almost always next to or in the immediate vicinity of these American teenagers? In some of the interviews the adult is off screen but they can still be noticed by small clues and large ones (such as the leg or arm of the adult). When all of that is actually taken into consideration, something does smell. And in the one picture attached, Ellen's show paid the expenses for the teenagers AND their parents/guardians (the parents or other guardian had to be involved unless they are of legal age or are emancipated (highly doubtful)), they were present either in the audience or backstage.

One other thing - showing something from another country as an example in this case is like comparing apples to oranges. On top of that most can be shown as having a major connection with older adults in the background, which is no different than what most claim is the case here.

SPC Martin Wiesiolek - While I feel for what you went through, we are not in Poland. If you can't see the truth in what I have written, you don't have any experience with American teenagers.
All you have to do is go into every city in the USA and ask any parent or teenager how their children get their money and what do they need to do to go more than 5 miles from their home.
I have been a police officer for over 32 years. I routinely see parents drive their teenage children to malls, movie theaters, and sporting events, to drop their kids off. I have been asked many times to contact the parents of the teenagers for various reasons such as failed to be picked up, misconduct, etc
Despite depictions on TV and movies, the average teenager does not have a vehicle or a job, and does not have parents who are independently wealthy.
BLUF, teenagers are dependent on their guardians and the idea that thousands or even hundreds of students from each school have the ability to leave school and show up at marches and rallies any distance beyond 10 miles from their house on school days is suspect. It is even more suspect that parents are able to take time off from work without consequences.
To give this a try, ask random people what their bosses would say if they suddenly told their work they weren't coming in for days at a time because their children wanted to protest.

SSgt Ray Stone Also known as a shameless attempt to use a recent tragedy to enact poorly thought out and reckless legislation. Why were the kids even in the room? That's right! They were brought in because certain legislators knew it would never pass and they wanted to be able to keep the smell of blood fresh in the nostrils of the extremists working to take away 2nd amendment rights.

I am glad there was no attempt at a kneejerk reaction. There are plenty of things we can do (I have spelled those out on other posts). Banning weapons to make teenagers feel better is not one of them. We like our guns here in Florida. While I think people want to find solutions, listening to upset., overly emotional teenagers is not the way to go.

I understand and appreciate their concern and their desire to change things but 99.% of us that own guns are legal, and law abiding citizens who should not be pursued by those with no worldly experience. That is the truth and sometimes it hurts.

Cpl Jeff N. - First of all if you can't be honest with how Obama handled violence with the talking points of his policy and the demands for action by Congress with legislation in regards to mental health related violence, domestic violence, high capacity magazines, and registration system that could aid law enforcement at every level of government. That he chose not to use EOs but sought permanent legislation that is effective and doesn't violate the Constitution. If you can't be honest that those type of discussions by Obama; that we knew exactly what his stance on gun violence was for 8 years then why should I expect an honest conversation from you on Trump? Let me know when Trump sits down with those same GOP congressional leaders that blocked Obama's attempts at gun law reform and makes similar demands with better results.

I will wait for you to post the list of things Obama did any time during his 8 years or his crack team he put together after Sandy Hook put into place. I will wait in vain for that list.
