Learned that trick in Scouts to find help navigate at night. Can pick out cars, streams and animals. Was very effective in aggressing units during perimeter defense probes. Not so good anymore as my ears ring badly. A lot of old style field craft is going by the wayside.

CSM Richard StCyr Sgt Wayne Wood My tinnitus prevents me from doing that as well, Richard. When I got hearing aids, they said that would help with the tinnitus. It didn't. My night vision is great. We didn't use night vision devices as much as they do today.

SGT (Join to see) - I go Tuesday for hearing aids at the VA, I held off but it's starting to cause trouble. I was at penera bread, they have the music playing kind of loud and the guy asked if I wanted a Bagget; that's not what I heard and the story goes down hill from there.
I don't know if anything really helps the tinnitus I tried that riboflavanoid stuff they advertise on TV and all it did was help make my wallet lighter to carry.

Bats find insects. I can find walls, legos and furniture legs! They are much better than I am! LOL
Hadn't found any furniture lately. I use light switches now. Hahaha
Good post, Sgt Wayne Wood. I know it wasn't a humor piece, but I got a good laugh thinking about it anyway!
