Master Sgt. Jonathan Dunbar, 36, of Austin, Texas, was deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. He died from his wounds Thursday in Manbij, Syria, when an IED detonated near his patrol. - Rest in peace, brother.

R.I.P. Jon Jay. We served together back in the fine old LRS Company on Fort Hood, TX (before he took his long walk). I was in western Iraq with my guys when I got word of his passing in Syria. One of the best dudes I ever knew, and the first one to be selected from Fort Hood. If you knew him, you saw it in him from the start.
