I would definitely check to see what kind of insurance policy they had on the place, and how long ago they took out the policy.

I’d also be looking at any ex-members who were banned.

I guess it's possible that an anti-gun group did this... I'm not sure how so many arrived at the conclusion that an anti-gun group was the most likely culprit though... rival businesses, disgruntled former employees, or even the range itself if the place was insured, would seem to be more likely. Either way this will result in boatloads of free advertising, donations to help the range rebuild, and public sympathy for those impacted.
If it was an anti-gun group, their efforts backfired.

So if we play this out, multiple individuals spent the time to fill numerous one gallon jugs full of gasoline, using multiple vehicles (unless you pack multiple people into the same vehicle in which you are hauling the gasoline) to locate a remote shooting range and burn it down... hoping no one with a gun spotted them or showed up while they were rearranging everything for better combustion. They didn't televise it, put in on YouTube, and as far as I know, no one has claimed responsibility... so apparently the "anti-gun group" just wanted to upset those few people that used that particular range.
I am not buying it.

I agree that it is in fact the least likely scenario. 3 to 1 it was the owners/operators of the gun range itself that committed arson.

SGT (Join to see) You know because nothing says "I am against violence" like burning the buildings of someone who has never wronged you.
