The US can't keep up with demand for health aides, nurses and doctors

To many people have read into this for to many years. I can tell you for a fact we do not have a nursing shortage and at the rate nursing schools are pumping out RNs and the waiting list, we never will. The problem we have is nurses staying at the bedside and when I graduated, five years was the average time for a nurse to remain at the bedside. Nationally we are pushing for a bachelor degree to be the entry level for RNs and in those programs, we push management. So you end up with a new grad that does not want to do bedside care any longer than they have to and look for jobs using that fancy degree outside of wiping ass. We are creating the problem and it is not a shortage of people licensed, it is a shortage of work areas they want to work in.
