This is what worries me about the concept of driverless cars. Sure the technology can do it but if people can't latch on to the concept of buying a cashless burger, what are the odds of general acceptance of a driverless car?

Kind of with you there. Flew aircraft at 450 kts at 400' above ground hands off, so trust systems, but still had a stick to override.

I very rarely use cash anymore. I've ordered via kiosk at a McDonalds twice (once here, once in the UK), both times the ordering was easy, but the food took a while.

I'm like you but will still use cash for a purchase under say $20. The issue I have is that so many people do not have credit cards for any number of reasons. Denying them the ability to get something to eat is too extreme IMO.

I think it is important to maintain the ability to take cash. The supermarkets do that via the self serve register, why can't the fast food industry do it that way as well?
