This is how Hawaii was formed, by volcanic action, still in progress. James Mitchner's book "Hawaii" goes into great detail. Thanks for sharing a great post.

It's bad that the residents of Hawaii are going through this. The volcano was there first to form the island and has been active just not to this extent. I just hope it calms down quickly and stays that way for a good long time. Nature is a force to be reckoned with for sure and usually at a cost. Thanks for the read Sgt.

Heh. It’s the world’s most active volcano, and it’s been continuously erupting (although not this spectacularly) for over three decades.
