This article appears to have been written by someone with no knowledge of the importance of "high ground" in military tactics. Ever since Sputnik was launched, thereby launching "The Great Space Race", military strategists have contemplated the high ground of space, even the Moon. When President Kennedy committed America to a Moon mission, he said we're doing it because it's "difficult". What he omitted was any mention of the military implications of having an enemy staring down its gun sights from the vantage point of space, or even the Moon. Sure, astronauts have been propagandists for NASA and its "peaceful mission", promoting abstinence in the militarization of space, but they are whistling in the dark, just as Chamberlain did as he scurried off to Berlin to court Hitler and returned with a treaty proclaiming "Peace for our time" (and then Hitler attacked)...

LTC (Join to see) - Too much time to deliver a strike to a satellite from the ground and the cost to do such is too high. But with space born stations time is cut to minutes or seconds. No water molecules, air friction (no speed of sound issues) or debris in space to deal with as in the atmosphere to create problems for lasers, plasma or a ballistic (kinetic force) weapon. Also a space station could also point down to the earth bringing a whole new dimension to silent threat from above.

LTC (Join to see) - Also if anyone follows science, it is easy to realize that there are great amounts of energy and material that is not on this planet. If country A puts a energy collecting device in space and country B threatens it? How does country A defend it? Is from the ground of earth the proper answer ? These are just thoughts.
