Everybody has an opinion, a point of view (POV). That's the way it is, always has been, always will be. Journalists once worked under the thumb of editors who chopped up articles severely whenever that bias affected their reporting. They were forced to follow rules. Explain the story in the first sentence, the first paragraph at most. Space was limited and any story could have its tail chopped off to make room for another, so keep the important stuff at the top and fill with less important stuff at the bottom. And, most importantly, opinions belonged on the opinion pages. Facebook, Twitter, and all other social media are the current version of opinion pages. Back in the haydays of newsprint journalism, every paper had a point of view and this was reflected in their opinion pages. Thus, it is fair that social media control the content to broadcast only their POV. However, (and this is the "but") they built their platforms, their commercial success, on being open to all opinions, but now they are staking out ideological positions and excluding some who helped build them. That's the complaint being made in this video. Crowder, Levine, et al, helped build the commercial success of Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, et al, and now are being deprived of their share of the proceeds. Do they have a right of action? Probably not. Thus, they are a cautionary tale. Don't use your assets to build someone else's business...
