Kudos on an age and gender neutral test. However, I find the following statement kind of misleading:
"You can be 20 years old on the battlefield, or you can be 50, and you’re going to have to accomplish the same mission."
I'm very sure that a 20 year old Specialist and a 50 year old Colonel have very different jobs, even though, yes, they are working towards the same mission.
The big question is what will those with profiles do as alternate events for each regular event?

They are going to determine that in field testing is what I read from TRADOC. Rumor is they want to get rid of permanent profiles completely and have no alternate events. But that's RUMINT at this point.

SFC (Join to see) - That's going to be tough for those of us with permanent profiles in the Reserve. I can do all those things, but the run will kill my already bad knees. Oh well, more disability money...

SSG(P) (Join to see) - Oh I know. I have shitty knees. I got a permanent last year to do the walk. I think they should just get rid of the run. Senior leaders even said "We know we don't run in combat but it's just easier to do than a ruck march." They want to keep this under 50 min I guess. But that's a stupid reason right there.
I started out with issues with just one knee and all they've said is patellar femoral syndrome. The PT here told me I'm losing cartilage and there's nothing to fix that. Then last year, the other knee started bothering me too. It hurts when I run, go up and down stairs or inclines or any impact. It sucks. I have a feeling I'll end up like my dad with all the knee replacements he's had but sooner than he had his.
All we can do is wait and see.

The test is fine. But I feel that the NG/USAR soldiers will have a much harder time preparing for this than the current test. And will have to buy the equipment/gym membership on their own. That shouldn't be the case.

Yes, I agree. We don't even have that equipment at my armory. Are they going to provide enough equipment for a headquarters element to manage all testing, and equipment at all armories to allow for training? And we've got countless Soldiers living in rural areas for whom access to training locations would be a real hardship.

1LT (Join to see) - You're correct. I live in Mississippi and there are plenty of soldiers here who live in the middle of nowhere.
