Some would call firearms owners paranoid, but remember, even if you are paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you!

If there is a "deep state' it needs to be gotten rid of.

I am always amazed at the small registration numbers when liberal states make previously legal guns illegal overnight and then want citizens to voluntarily register their now illegal guns. The low registration numbers from NY are not surprising. My first experience with it was back in the 90’s when California sought to register AR type rifles. Almost all of my friends who owned them, who were all cops, chose NOT to register their weapons. When the cops themselves are not following the law, you know there is a problem.

I don’t see that situation with the California farmer as a prediction of things to come. What California and most other states have done recently is expand the laws that make certain weapons now illegal. However, they put no money into law enforcement that is supposed to enforce those laws. The majority of cops that I know (I know a lot of them having spent 30 years in LE) are pro 2nd Amendment. If an honest citizen stays off the radar, the average cop will not go after them. The cops would rather go after crooks with guns than put joe citizen in jail. The trick is to stay off the radar which is why many folks have chosen not to register their “assault rifles.”

MSgt Dale Johnson I also don't own one, even though my bolt action Mossberg could be mistaken for one with the adjustable stock, pistol grip, high cap mag, and bipod. But this is my choice. I enjoy shooting my sons AR, but i like my bolt action, I don't blow through as many rounds that way.

Maj Robert Thornton - I don’t own any AR’s either. But I have plenty of other rifles that do more damage, but are perfectly legal because they are not AR’s. It shows how silly the laws are.

On Guam ever since I can remember in the 60's, all firearms had to be registered, maybe because of the war here, and still today, all firearms have to be registered, not just Assault Types.
Through the years I had many Assault Types, but never felt that the government was trying to control my firearms. I always thought it was just another way to generate money. And the firearm registration is permanent, so you only have to register it once. Also, if you want to own a firearm, you have to get a Firearms ID, and to me it controls just who can own one, yes I know that the bad guys have guns too.
As a police officer for many years, gun registration was a good tool for us police officers in the field, we knew what guns were stolen and returned them back to it's rightful owners, and who wasn't permitted to have a gun in their possession. Registered or not, people still shoot at the police officers.
I can see why everyone is against the gun registration for those states that never had one in the first place.
But looking at it from a place that always had firearm registration, it has it's place that does well with it, and I assume it has it's place with no registration too.
To tell you the truth, what bothers me is, "Having to pay more for car insurance because of your age, sex, and or what type of car you're driving". Now that's CONTROL. In 1986 I owned a 67 Chevy Nova with a 6cly engine in the LA county, I was 33 at the time, and my liability insurance was $2000. I was told because I had never lived in the LA county before, "Now that's CONTROL". Lol
Note: Some of my guns are not pictured, I did at one time have 28 guns during one time of my life, and all of my guns were registered.

Why I have so many black guns, I guess it complements my shinny ones. Lol
