I've seen that "intellectual" disdain for the military myself, even by some who were in, and resented the less educated giving them orders. Too bad they didn't recognize those "dummies" had more pertinent first-hand experience and knowledge than their "education" provided.
Come to think of it, if our military is truly composed of "The lowest of the low", then it's time to make Universal Military Training a reality in this country. Let's get every level of intelligence and all the talents of our population to share in the burden of national defense. All can contribute to that goal, and personally benefit from the experience of military service.
