This was inevitable, humans being violent monkeys. I do think it is premature, however. I don't think this is needed until there's a permanent manned presence with significant assets. We have plenty of ways to take out satellites.

I honestly do not believe he understands what capabilities we already have, what we are doing with space now (although he could because smart people could brief him). And it sounds jazzy.

Sometimes it takes more than surrounding yourself with SMEs. You have to have the ability if not capacity to comprehend it as well. I'm not convinced he's even marginally good at just listening.
