I actually support freezing federal worker wages, but I'd also include military wages in that for E-6 and up.
My question about this is the authority that POTUS cites to do it which talks about either a "national emergency" or national economic distress. By all of POTUS other comments, the national economy is stellar. So, where's the emergency that predicates this action?

The national economy and the government budget are two different things but related. Raising the government budget too far hurts the economy. Thus it's reasonable for the President to put the brakes on one to protect the other

Got it. Federal workers should forgo a raise so that the richest folks can keep their tax breaks. That sounds reasonable.
