I don't believe this BS for a minute. The same thing was said about the other females who graduated. But here is why I don't believe it. Because it would mean that the senior Ranger NCOs and Officers pwho run the course are liars who have sold out their integrity to pass a female. These are the NCOs and officers who have led Rangers in the most difficult battles the Rangers of this generation have faced. IMO they would be the very last people susceptible to political pressure. All of the Rangers I have worked with would have an IDGAF attitude about pressure to pass someone who didnt meet standards. They would never sell out their fellow Rangers that way.

I remember "Ranger Instructor NCOs" were quoted as saying that the CG and CSM of the Infantry School had walked patrols with the female officers and overrode the RI grading and passed them. Then it turned out that the CG and CSM had never even walked a patrol with any of the females, much less graded them. The CG they were accusing of such an integrity breach was a Captain in SFOD-D Pduring the Blackhawk down operation in Somalia. He was a former SFOD-D Commander. If anyone thinks that a person like that would buckle to political pressure and allow someone to earn a Ranger Tab who didn't deserve it has no idea how these type of soldiers think, and how seriously they take their responsibility to the SOF community to uphold the standards.

For those
claims to be true, then dozens of Ranger NCOs and Officers, combat vets who work in the school chain of command, would have to all agreed to sell out their integrity. Sorry, but that just didn't happen

But what is very likely is some butthurt Ranger feels like his tab is somehow diminished because a female could pass the course. In their warped ego driven mind, they feel that to accept that means that Ranger School wasn't as hard as he thought or bragged about, because "a girl" made it through. His bruised sense of manhood cannot do the right thing, which is to congratulate that new Ranger, and recognize that she made it through and met the standards despite not having a natural edge in muscle mass or testosterone.

So quit crying, Ranger. You should, as I do, celebrate the achievement of a remarkable person who faced a tremendous challenge and dug deep and found the mettle to pass. Her accomplishment in no way denigrates your own accomplishments.

don't forget all the other Ranger candidates, whether they passed or not, who would have to agree to keep their mouths shut.

Where do they come up with this fake info? She recycled Darby once for patrols, and went through the other two phases without an issue. She's a hard charging NCO, and anyone who knows her would know that she would never quit.

Sgt John Steinmeier - Anonymous sources have been used and common for well over a century if not longer in news reporting.

However I'm not sure if "popular military" is what you would call journalism.

with Fort Benning refusing to comment, I would have to withhold judgment on the veracity of this article.

I only believe the RI NONCOMs. Until I hear from them I don't believe jack. Remember back when the department got the word that females were coming back in the day. Both the CSM and commander both said in the paper "we sat down immediately and decided what we didn't need anymore" . WTF does that mean? Oh...somebody got personal extra walkers to ensure they were safe because those females walkers had seen Rangers in the field smoking ISIS bags. Since they saw that they were now qualified to walk with those new "female Rangers". Now I am OCS and not very educated but I can read between those lines. They got rid of certain standards "not required" anymore. WTF does that mean? I understand all kinds rucks got lighter and all kinds of chances to recycle (like each cycle, LOL), and some got to stay for 6 months. Now I don't know what units allow people to stay away at 2 month long schools for 6 months being individually trained up but I guess it happens now. All that being said I will give them atta-boys for having the balls to hang that long but don't tell me that they did exactly what I did. Humans are the only species that the male can kill the female with their bare hands. All other species have the ability to kill each other. But this enters another realm where I do not believe females can fight one on one with males in the infantry. The IDF tried and they got rid of it...what the hell...I bet a dollar that the first MOH given to a female will be a Ranger. Bet a dollar
