Lord, what a goat rope. Not one 30” step to be seen. Clearly they spent more time on their ‘creative Drill’ than on regular marching as a military unit.

It is certainly one drastically different concept in military drill from the “Old Army or ANY time on the Marine Corps.

MSgt George Cater, I tried to get this in the original post, however it didn't post, but I never heard one of my DI singing like these.

It all sounds familiar, but my experience leans more toward the Old Corps types from the 70’s when I was on the street. The younger DI’s seem to infuse their generation’s music style into their sing-song cadence. The main thing about good cadence is a discernible emphasis on the instant the heel is supposed to hit the deck. It isn’t just creative singing, but more like a conductor controlling a band to keep them on the beat.
Ah, different generations. I’m definitely part of the Old Corps now. Cpl Scott McCarroll

MSgt George Cater, Platoon 2067 graduated October 3,1973. Greatest and worst day of my life. Greatest because I graduated on my birthday. Worst day because when Rick and I got to the airport, we were spit on and call names.

I feel like this is what they were trying to accomplish but couldn't compete with the greatness from over 30 years ago.
