I am glad we did our visit to Venice about 36 years ago. Doesn't sound like much fun these days.

CW5 Jack Cardwell - so it appears. Too many is as much of a problem as not enough.

CW5 Jack Cardwell I visited Venice, Florence and several other cities back in 2007 while staying with friends at Aviano AB for a month. I have to agree with the measurements that these cities are taking to have more control over the Tourists; it is difficult to even get into some places because it’s so crowded. I tried for three days to get into an Opera and never could get in because there were to many tourists trying to get in; so were does it leave the locals when they try to get in. This also raises the prices incredibly high for everything. The only one, i haven’t quite been able to understand, is the one with the sand. I would think that most tourists know that you can’t bring anything like this into another country anyway due to import laws, so if anyone is stealing sand, then it’s most likely people from their own country.
