When that person is facing you with a weapon( anything you feel threatened by) in texas you allowed to respond with lethal force you have to make that split second decision as a chl holder I haven't had to pull my firearm and I hope I never do but if I have to I will

On Guam, if someone threatens you in your home, you have the right to shoot to kill. Never had to pull the trigger, just the sight of your gun takes care of the problem.

The article lost me at ... in most states you are allowed to use deadly force for self defense...
Most states?? All states allow you to defend yourself. Tell me one state where you are not allowed to defend yourself? Some states (Texas) you are allowed to defend your property. In other more restrictive states (California) you are only allowed to defend yourself or others. I don’t know of any state where you have to let someone beat the crap out of you or kill you.
In law enforcement, the point of using force is to win. Not tie, not lose, but win. In home defense, I would use the same mentality. If you threaten me, my family or my neighbors then you better be prepared for the consequences.
Using Less lethal for home defense is just asking for trouble.

That confused me as well.
Also, you are not required to prove your life was threatened; rather that you "believed" it was. And that isn't even considering that the burden of proof would be on the prosecution.
