40 Years Later, Vietnam Veterans Memorial Stands as Lasting Statement on War and Remembrance

My dad's naval service was from 1958 to 1979. He speaks a little about the Vietnam War and being an Aviation Structural Mechanic in the U.S. Navy, what he saw was the results of this squadron's aircraft going inland. He has said there were times when the number of aircraft they launched, was not always the same number of aircraft they recovered aboard the carrier. He knows several aircrewmen that were shot down or lost.

I've been able to look at his "Cruise" books and I can remember vividly one that had a picture of a TU-95 being escorted by four F-4 Phantoms as it flew over the carrier during the same time frame.
