No, this is not fake news. This means that when you see a Canadian wearing a beard, doesn't mean he's in the Navy or he's part of their special forces Oda detachment. I guess too many Millennials want to be an individual and don't want to join the military. Legalizing pot after October of this year will not make things any better for recruiters.
just like in the United States, Canyon forces people of fate who require they wear beard or those who claim to be of a pagan faith can wear them as well. Don't be surprised if you see a cbrn NCO or officer with a beard. I am sure if we go into a chemical environment, those people will have to shave way before they hear gas! Gas! Gas! LOL

If the chemical threat before going into an AO is assessed as 'probable' then they would shave before deployment. Heck, just shave before any deployment. Its not too hard.
