No. Anyone can do it BUT many won't do it.. Others do it well and some not so well. Can you currently do 40 pushups 40 sit-ups and run two miles. If not start working out if so you've got it.

SFC Ralph E Kelley - For the Army, that's pretty irrelevant if the ACFT does fully come to fruition (the PU, SU and 2 mile run).

That was a great analogy. I watched Full Metal Jacket the night before I went to the Marine recruiter's office. I think boot camp/basic is easier the younger you are as well. As a 17 year old, being told what to do was not a foreign concept. Plus, I realized that I knew absolutely zero. About anything. The older you get, the more you think you know and "deserve".

My dad took me to see Full Metal Jacket before I went to basic. He thought it would change my mind. I ended up being one of the sickos. Once I adjusted I loved it. Airborne School was an added bonus.
