Can't go wrong with Four Roses. Michter's is good too. But I recently held a blind tasting with everything from a $15 bottle to one that was $130. The overall winner of the night was Woodford Reserve ($40). But it was interesting to see how the $15 bottle blended right in with the higher priced ones and no one knew the difference.

SSG Carlos Madden - Jim Beam. After we revealed what they were we had to do another blind test between only the Jim Beam and Makers Mark. Mislabeled them again!

MAJ (Join to see) - Wow. My go to budget bourbon is Evan Williams and Old Forester 86. Evan Williams isn't great but much better than the $13 you pay for it.

MAJ (Join to see) - I've yet to try Woodford Reserve but for the $40 price point my current favorite is Col EH Taylor small batch bourbon - $38

SSG Carlos Madden - EH Taylor is good stuff for sure. I'm with you though. Evan Williams can't be beat at that price. I tried some Benchmark a few weeks ago. It's around the same price as Evan Williams and wasn't bad at all in my opinion.
