This is why the privatized housing has been an issues across the military. They are willing to take your money, but unwilling to help you out when there is a natural catostrophe and they need to move active duty people in.

The Ft Leavenworth housing charged me $150 to dump a swing that I forgot outside.

I empathize with the families who are being evicted, but can't fault the fact that active duty families have priority. The people on active duty should not be deprived of the opportunity to have their families with them at minimal expense because person's like myself who no longer contribute directly to the DOD mission see value in using excess units.
